Volunteering

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A VOLUNTEER TO TAKE MEALS ON WHEELS TO PEOPLE IN THE VILLAGE OF GREAT LONGSTONE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE GET IN TOUCH.

Thornhill House would not be able to function as well as it does without the help and support of our volunteers.   They are not only a valuable resource to us and much appreciated by staff and residents at the home, but they also provide a valuable input from the community.

Our volunteers help out with a ‘tea and coffee’ round and assist on outings, coffee mornings, fundraising events or just popping in to chat to the residents.

They deliver "meals on wheels" 365 days a year to the elderly of the village,

We also get help with gardening and assisting with our activities.

Many of our volunteering opportunities are often as much a social event as they are hard work.

All our volunteers require a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Young Volunteers.  Here at Thornhill House we are keen to offer work experience placements when possible and we actively encourage youngsters who are undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Award to carry out their Community Service section with us.

If you would like to join our band of volunteers, please get in touch with Di our matron.
