Do you have planning permission?

Planning permission in in progress: In February 2026 we exchanged contracts with the owners of the Grange, and we expect to complete the sale within the next 12 months. Now that the property purchase has successfully gone through the legal phase we are proceeding with the planning process at full speed and hope to show people around soon and share our plans. However, as The Grange remains in the ownership of the vendors and as such is still private property, we would therefore ask people not to visit the property without prior arrangement.

What will happen to the current site?

The sale of the current site forms part of the funding mix needed to finance the move to The Grange. Options for its sale are current being explored, working in liaison with the Peak Park Authority. The Trustees of course need to realise the highest value they can for the site, but of course will be mindful of the impact of any sale on the local community. As soon as a solution has been agreed, Thornhill House will make an announcement.
